Foreign Vessel Detained for Transporting Stolen Ukrainian Grain
As part of an operation conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine and the State Border Guard Service, a foreign vessel was detained in the Black Sea for illegally transporting Ukrainian agricultural products stolen from occupied territories.
This was reported by the SBU.
According to sources, the name of the vessel is Anka.
The investigation revealed that the detained vessel was part of a so-called "shadow" fleet of Russia, used for selling plundered Ukrainian grain to third countries. At the end of 2024, the cargo ship transported 5,000 tons of wheat from the port of Sevastopol, which had been stolen from the temporarily occupied southern regions of Ukraine.
The State Border Guard Service reported that to disguise the origin of the cargo, the ship sailed under the flag of one of the Asian states.
It is noted that during the search on board, navigation equipment, ship documentation, and other tangible evidence confirming the involvement of the vessel and crew in the illegal transport scheme were seized.
The vessel has been arrested, and the crew has been detained. Pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
