Enhancing Accessibility in Odesa
In collaboration with the Ministry of Development, efforts are ongoing in Odesa to implement the «Barrier-Free Routes» initiative, aimed at creating a comfortable urban environment for all residents.
The Barrier-Free Council has initiated a comprehensive inspection of all tram routes in Odesa.
From April 23 to 25, the actual accessibility of electric transport for everyone is being assessed.
Members of the expert group, along with specialists, monitored routes: №№11, 13, 17, 18, 5, 10, and 28. There will be further checks on routes №№ 21, 15, 12.
During the inspection, the condition of platforms, access to stops, and the availability of trams were evaluated.
All data collected during the monitoring, including observations and recommendations, will be organized and presented at the next Barrier-Free Council meeting.
The goal is not only to document issues but also to implement a clear mechanism for change.
