Tribute to the Fallen Captain in Odesa Region
In the Odesa region, a farewell ceremony was held for Captain Vladislav Ilchuk, who died in battle on February 22, 2025. The Bolhrad City Council emphasized that he defended the country from the very first days of the war.
Today, on March 2, the community of Tabaky bid farewell to Battalion Commander Vladislav Ilchuk. Before the war, he lived in Bakhmut with his family. When their city was destroyed, the family was forced to relocate to the Odesa region.
"After intense fighting in Bakhmut, the officer's family had to leave their hometown and settle in the Bolhrad community. Here, they tried to rebuild their lives, hoping for the return of their hero. However, the enemy shattered those dreams, taking away the husband, son, and father."
The body of the fallen defender was carried through a living corridor created by community members to honor his heroism. At the cemetery, where he was laid to rest alongside other fallen soldiers, his widow was presented with the state flag of Ukraine as a symbol of gratitude and remembrance," - noted the Bolhrad community.
