Arrest Made for Illegal Arms Trafficking in Odesa
The authorities seized dangerous items and charged an offender, who now faces significant imprisonment.
Police documented how a 33-year-old local resident sold military supplies to an acquaintance twice. Initially, he sold 50 rounds of ammunition and later three grenade bodies along with their fuses.
With the help of experts, the dangerous items were confiscated and sent for examination. Their classification as military supplies was confirmed by expert conclusions.
Investigators apprehended the suspect and based on the collected evidence charged him with illegal acquisition, possession, storage, and sale of military supplies without the necessary permission. This crime is punishable by up to seven years in prison.
The court imposed a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of bail set at 60,560 UAH, which he utilized.
Authorities are investigating the source of the suspect's ammunition.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the local prosecutor's office.
