Drone Assault: Latest Developments
On the night of August 8, Ukraine faced a significant assault involving 104 strike drones of the Shahed type, various imitator drones, and 8 jet drones. A total of 82 targets were neutralized, although some hits were recorded.
The Air Forces of Ukraine reported via Telegram that as of 8:00 AM, they had downed 3 jet drones and 79 enemy Shahed UAVs. Hits were recorded at 10 locations, with debris falling in 8 of them.
The attackers launched drones from Russian cities including Shatalovo, Kursk, Bryansk, and also from the temporarily occupied Crimea.
The defense was coordinated by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
