Promoting Mental Health in Odesa's Educational Institutions
Throughout September, various activities took place in Odesa's municipal educational institutions as part of the nationwide mental health program "How are you?".
These initiatives aimed at supporting the mental well-being of all participants in the educational process.
For the students, a thematic mental health week titled "Friendship is the key to a happy life!" was organized, along with psychological breaks and emotional training, quests "Smiles on the Way to Knowledge", and sessions "How to Overcome Fear During Air Raids". The children learned techniques to reduce stress and anxiety.
Additionally, a social video competition titled "My Place in the World" was held for students, along with dance flash mobs as part of the "Olympic Week", workshops, and discussions.
Teachers participated in roundtable discussions on "What is Mental Health and How to Maintain It?", meetings with psychologists about "Children's Mental Health During War", sessions within the "Safe Space" program, seminars, and lectures. Various approaches to supporting students during this challenging time were discussed.
Consultations and practical sessions for parents on supporting children during wartime were also conducted.
Moreover, general school activities took place. Informational stands with QR codes for the program "How are you?" were set up in accessible locations.
To support mental health and reduce stress, as well as to develop resilience and self-esteem, school actions such as "Mood Smile", "Hugs", psychological online sessions, and individual consultations for all educational process participants were organized.
