New Life-Saving Body Armor for Military Personnel
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has announced its first procurement of body armor designed to help military personnel stay afloat while equipped with their gear and weapons. This information was shared in a recent press release.
The body armor features a modular design that includes a buoyancy module developed by the Central Material Support Development Office.
This innovative module transforms the body armor into a life-saving device that can keep a soldier afloat in full gear, including personal protective equipment and weapons. This greatly reduces risks during water missions, whether at sea or while crossing water obstacles.
It has been noted that these body armor sets are already in use by the Naval Forces and Special Operations units conducting tasks in coastal areas and on water.
Additionally, it was previously reported that the Ministry of Defense is preparing new quality control standards for defense procurements in line with NATO requirements, which will enhance the qualifications of personnel responsible for these acquisitions.
