Reflections of a Nation: New Installation in Odessa

On the eve of Independence Day, a new installation titled "Mirror of Independence" was unveiled in Odessa. Visitors had the chance to look into the mirror and ponder the question: "What have I done for victory?". The organizers stress the importance of personal responsibility from every citizen.

The event attracted many locals and tourists, who paused to gaze at their reflections, take photos, and share their thoughts. Political scientist Mikhail Shabanov emphasized that this event resonates with the meaning of national celebrations.

"Our flag is a symbol of resilience. When you look in the mirror today, you see not only fatigue but also hope. We have grown stronger, and the belief in a bright future for Ukraine lives in each of us", he noted.

The primary goal of the organizers was to create a space for internal reflection for everyone: from veterans to students. They believe that contributions to the common victory can take many forms. Olexiy Zem'yany, leader of the Odessa branch of the NGO "Defense of the State", explained that this idea was the foundation of the action.

"Everyone must make their contribution. If you can fight — fight, if you can donate — donate, if you can create jobs — do it. Our task is to remind people that their actions, even the smallest, are important for the country", he emphasized.

According to Zem'yany, the installation is part of a nationwide campaign taking place in various regional centers. In Odessa, it was the first event of its kind.

"I hope next year we will gather again by this mirror — already in a free country, celebrating our victory", he added.
