Independence Day Address by President Zelensky
President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the people of Ukraine from Independence Square, highlighting the significance of this location for our nation.
In his speech marking Independence Day, he stated: “We are building a strong Ukraine where our children will celebrate Independence Day in peace and tranquility.” He expressed gratitude to all who defended the country's independence.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will not succumb to the compromises proposed by aggressors and stressed the importance of a just peace. “Only we will decide Ukraine's future,” he added.
The President also shared insights from his recent meetings in the United States, where Ukraine was recognized as a strong nation ready for partnership. “We do not ask; we offer,” he noted.
Zelensky assured that Ukraine will receive reliable security guarantees to ensure its independence in the future.
Remember, on August 24, Ukraine celebrates the 34th anniversary of independence, observed during the ongoing war initiated by Russia.
