Hearing Awareness Day in Odesa: Prevention and Early Detection
Last week, an event dedicated to hearing health was held in Odesa. This initiative was organized with the support of local health authorities.
Anyone interested could take advantage of free hearing screenings and receive consultations from specialists. Referrals for further testing were provided as needed.
During the event, 426 individuals were screened, including 251 children. The examinations revealed 116 cases of hearing disorders, with 64 of these cases being in children.
66 patients were referred for audiometry due to detected hearing issues. ENT specialists offered advice and recommendations to all participants of the event.
Medical facilities were equipped with modern diagnostic tools for hearing disorders funded by the city budget. Doctors emphasize the importance of regular hearing checks — annually, and the need to consult a physician in case of sudden hearing changes.
Do not delay a visit to the doctor if you experience:
- ear pain or discharge;
- sudden hearing loss in one ear;
- concerns about your child's hearing.
