Revamping the International Border Crossing
The revamping of the international border crossing «Reni – Giurgiulești» is underway.
The procurement process for the project «Capital repair of the public road M-15 Odesa – Reni (to Bucharest). Establishment of a parking and rest area for drivers at km 307+070 (left), Odesa region» has been completed.
The contractor selected through the tender in the Prozorro system is — LLC «ROSTDORSTROY», with whom a contract was signed on 23.07.2025 for the execution of works No. 3K/25. The cost of works amounts to 179,460,000 UAH excluding VAT, with a deadline for completion by 31.12.2025.
This project will provide a modern and safe area for the temporary stop of vehicles, waiting, and resting for drivers near the border crossing for road traffic «Reni – Giurgiulești». It will help reduce the load on the crossing point, improve logistics, convenience for citizens and drivers, as well as enhance the overall quality of border infrastructure. The area is designed for:
- 46 parking spaces for freight transport;
- 13 parking spaces for passenger cars, including 2 spaces for persons with disabilities.
The project is part of the European initiative «Solidarity Routes», which promotes the integration of Ukraine's transport routes into the European network, providing new opportunities for export and bilateral trade with the European Union. Funding for the project is expected to come from a grant provided under the EU program «Connecting Europe Facility» (#CEF), which covers 50% of the costs. The remaining 50% is financed from the state budget.
