Adaptive Sports in Odessa: Expanding Opportunities
Odessa is actively promoting the development of adaptive sports.
Mayor Gennady Trukhanov, along with the Barrier-Free Council team, visited the sports club "Arena" to assess the training conditions.
The club already offers rehabilitation services for veterans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and is enhancing these services in partnership with the municipality.
During the visit, particular attention was given to the accessibility of facilities for individuals with disabilities.
"The facility provides excellent training conditions, but we noticed a crucial detail — the absence of an accessible restroom for wheelchair users. Additionally, there are several other aspects that need improvement. It is encouraging that the club's management is open to dialogue — together we are seeking technical solutions to make the space truly barrier-free," said Gennady Trukhanov.
