Agricultural Community in Odesa: Challenges and Opportunities

Connecting with farmers: A significant meeting of agricultural producers in Odesa

At the modern «AGRO-CENTER» facility, farmers from across Odesa gathered to discuss critical issues regarding land protection during wartime, tax reporting, new challenges for the agricultural sector, and preparations for harvesting early grains.

The Deputy Head of the Odesa Regional State Administration addressed the participants, emphasizing the necessity of supporting farmers as the backbone of the region's economy. He highlighted the need for transparent cooperation and efficient tax administration as the foundation of stability amid the ongoing conflict.

The Director of the Department of Agricultural Policy also spoke about the current state of readiness for the harvesting of early grains and legumes.

Key topics of focus included:

  • legal aspects of buying and selling land during wartime
  • tenant rights and protection of farmers' interests
  • cooperation with civil sectors in drought-affected areas
  • introduction to the latest technologies in the agricultural complex

The event, organized by the All-Ukrainian Agricultural Council, included representatives, land planners, farmers, lawyers, and agricultural business leaders.

While our defenders hold the front lines, farmers maintain food security. Even during wartime, Odesa's agricultural sector continues to advance, proving once again that our strength lies in the people who work the land.
