Restoration of Historic Doors in Odessa
In the heart of Odessa, at Kinna Street 12, experts from the social project «Thousand Doors of Odessa» have successfully restored the original oak doors of the historic Lamzaki building.
This structure was built in 1912, designed by architect Alexander Goltsvurm, as reported by the «Thousand Doors of Odessa» initiative.
Details of the Restoration
During the restoration process, specialists removed multiple layers of old paint from the wooden doors and treated them with stain and oil. They also restored lost elements, including the heels, trim strips, and capitol of the transom.
In addition to decorative restoration, the glass in the doors was replaced, significantly improving the lighting in the entrance. The doors now close with an automatic closer, and modern electric mortise locks ensure security.
