National Meeting on Barrier-Free Initiatives
On April 30, 2025, a significant meeting took place in Kyiv focused on the implementation of the «Barrier-Free Movement» project, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba.
Participants included representatives from the President's Office and local authorities, such as Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Viktor Mykyta and Minister's advisor on barrier-free issues Iryna Maliutina.
Odesa was represented by the city mayor's advisor on barrier-free space, Oleksii Morozov, who, along with the Director of the Department of Internal Policy Oleksandr Zhyltsov, presented initiatives being implemented under the city's barrier-free strategy.
Additionally, Odesa has been selected as one of the pilot communities for the Ministry's project, which aligns with the national strategy of First Lady Olena Zelenska's «Without Barriers» initiative aimed at creating barrier-free routes in major cities.
«Odesa is already showcasing practical results in implementing the barrier-free strategy. Under the direction of Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, we are working to ensure the city's infrastructure is convenient and accessible for every resident,» stated Oleksii Morozov.
