New Initiatives in Ukraine's Defense Industry
The Minister of Defense, Denys Shmyhal, met with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, Rustem Umerov, and deputy ministers responsible for international cooperation and procurement. They discussed weapon production, particularly intercepting drones.
Shmyhal shared this information on social media.
«On the agenda is the implementation of the President's tasks following the Technology Stake meeting on June 27. We reviewed all key points. Primarily, it involves providing soldiers with the necessary equipment and armaments», - noted Shmyhal.
According to him, this is also a matter of protecting Ukrainian cities.
«We will scale up production in Ukraine and procure intercepting drones from partners that have already proven effective. We expect significant results soon», - emphasized Shmyhal.
Together with the deputies, they discussed procurement, contracting, and financing of production, laying out priorities. Shmyhal assigned relevant tasks.
«We will intensify efforts in every direction to strengthen our defense capabilities», - he concluded.
