Memorial for Ukrainian Scouts Unveiled in Kyiv

A significant event took place in Kyiv with the unveiling of a memorial dedicated to Ukrainian scouts who perished in the fight for independence.

This tribute honors the bravery of intelligence officers and foreign volunteers who lost their lives defending Ukraine.

At the memorial's centerpiece is the word Aeternitas, meaning 'Eternity', symbolizing the international solidarity in the struggle for freedom.

The two pillars, resembling wings, symbolize strength and unyielding spirit, with a tranquil space between them displaying the names of fallen scouts.

From an aerial perspective, the arrangement of pillars and the central element resembles an owl's eye, symbolizing eternal vigilance and protection.

The memorial was consecrated by His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine.

“Each fallen scout made the ultimate sacrifice for their country. This memorial stands as a testament to their selflessness and spirit,” stated the Metropolitan.

The memorial was created by sculptor Nazar Bilyk, known for his previous work commemorating the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

“This memorial speaks of dignity and respect. It is a space where one can feel the presence of those who will not return,” noted Bilyk.

A moment of silence and a military salute honored the memory of the fallen scouts, with Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov placing flowers at the memorial.

“Their feats will live on eternally, as will their names engraved on this memorial,” emphasized Budanov.

The memorial will serve as a significant site for honoring the memory of fallen scouts and an integral part of military rituals.

Eternal memory to the heroes!
