Strengthening Ties: Odessa and Bristol Collaboration
The Mayor of Odessa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, held an online meeting with Tony Dyer, the head of the Bristol City Council (United Kingdom).
During the dialogue, they explored new avenues for collaboration, particularly in cinema and cultural exchange.
Bristol is renowned for its vibrant arts scene and film industry. Since 2017, it has been part of the UNESCO Creative Cities network, awarded the title of «City of Film».
«International relations among cities are based on practical connections. Your experience in community problem-solving and managing UNESCO sites is invaluable to us. We aim to learn from you how to preserve cultural heritage while harmoniously integrating the past with the present», stated the Mayor of Odessa.
A delegation from Bristol is expected to visit Odessa soon to strengthen ties and gain a deeper understanding of the city.
Bristol was named the best city to live in the UK in 2014 and 2017, and in 2015, it received the «European Green Capital» award.
