Supporting Mental Health of Students in Odesa
In November, Odesa implemented a series of activities to support students' mental health as part of the national program “You How?”. These efforts aimed to raise awareness about the importance of mental well-being.
Activities included communication sessions and workshops on topics like “Preserving Mental Health” and “Emotions as a Resource”, along with class hours focused on emotional literacy and friendship. Students engaged in playful activities that fostered emotional intelligence.
Specifically, for children who relocated from temporarily occupied territories, discussions on mental health, physical activity lessons, and creative group exercises were organized.
Teachers and parents actively participated in training sessions titled “Safe Space”, where discussions about children's psycho-emotional states took place. Individual consultations and informational materials regarding mental health support were also provided.
Schools published useful materials from the “You How?” program on their websites, including QR codes with information and recommendations for parents and educators.
