Greeting from the Mayor of Odesa on Knowledge Day
The Mayor of Odesa addressed students and educators on this special day, September 1:
"This day always holds great significance. A day when millions of children return to school, open new notebooks, and start a new chapter in their lives. Even in these tough times, the tradition of learning continues. I want to express my respect for our teachers. You are true Heroes. You teach amidst the sounds of sirens, in shelters, online, often under challenging conditions. Yet you persist. You know: knowledge is our future. You are shaping the generation that will rebuild Ukraine. I am proud of our children. They show incredible strength - learning against all odds. They open textbooks during alarms, engage in online classes, learn in shelters, and return to classrooms after the alarms cease. You prove to everyone that Ukrainian children cannot be intimidated or broken. Today, I congratulate all residents of Odesa on Knowledge Day. I wish inspiration and strength to teachers, patience to parents, and a thirst for knowledge and self-belief to our children. Together, we hold our future in our hands. And together we are bringing closer the day when every school will operate under a peaceful sky," stated Gennady Trukhanov.
