Elevator Renovation in Odesa for 2024
For 2024, the city program includes the replacement of 91 elevators, pending funding from the city budget. Additionally, 44 elevators that have been in service for over 25 years have already been renovated.
Currently, replacing one elevator costs the city budget between 1.5 to 2.3 million UAH, depending on the building's height and the elevator's load capacity. On average, the repair of one elevator takes up to two months.
According to the Department of Municipal Economy, new elevators have been installed in apartment buildings located at: Nebesnoi Sotni St., 6, Hlodan Family St. (Ilf and Petrov), 17 and 29, Academician Zabolotny St., 49, Prince Yaroslav the Wise Ave. (Akademika Hlushka), 34 and 11, and Lustdorf Road, 164.
Experts say that modern elevators are 40% more energy-efficient. In case of a power outage, emergency evacuation of people is planned, allowing residents to reach the nearest floor without hindrance, thereby minimizing the risk of getting stuck in the elevator shaft.
Since 2016, over 1,500 elevators have been replaced in Odesa. Due to the full-scale invasion, the city's elevator renovation program was temporarily halted, but work is resuming at the beginning of 2024.
Note
All new elevators are equipped with modern technology: frequency regulation and control systems for door operations, ensuring smooth opening and closing; a frequency control system for elevator movement that enhances the reliability of the main winch motor, extending its service life.
This technology allows for the use of motors with lower power requirements, contributing to energy savings while reducing load on the structural elements of the elevator, preventing jolts during start and stop, and improving comfort during use.
The cabins of all modernized and replaced elevators are lined with vandal-proof materials, providing excellent protection against mechanical damage. The cabins also feature anti-vandal lamps and metal buttons that cannot be ignited or removed from the panel. Mirrors and handrails are installed in all elevators.
