Upgrading Equipment for Winter Street Maintenance in Odesa

In Odesa, the modernization of municipal parks with specialized equipment is ongoing. This year, the technical fleet of the «City Roads» utility has been enhanced with the acquisition of four new PRONAR SPT40 spreaders.

This machinery is designed for treating the city’s street and road network in winter using reagents and is used with vehicles that have a payload capacity of over 10 tons.

The new PRONAR SPT40 spreaders feature a capacity control system that allows for increased processing volume. Monitoring and management of operational parameters, as well as the activation of brine for salt moistening, are performed from the vehicle's cabin using a control panel with a display.

The spreader is powered by a two-cylinder air-cooled diesel engine and can be started from a control panel.
The components of the spreading system are made of stainless steel, ensuring a long service life in highly corrosive conditions.

Compared to the outdated variable equipment also used by the utility, the new equipment allows for adjusting the spreading density, changing spreading programs, has a wider spreading width, and features a stainless steel spreading disc.

Overall, the utility has 61 units of variable equipment for winter maintenance, including the new machines.

Most of the technical fleet for winter street maintenance has been in use for over 10 years, although the recommended service life for such equipment is 5 years.

Specialists from the municipal enterprise maintain the satisfactory technical condition of the variable equipment on their own. Currently, they are adjusting the new equipment for operation during the winter period.
