New Celebration Date for Children's Day in Ukraine

From now on, Children's Day in Ukraine will be celebrated annually on November 20, in alignment with World Children's Day.

This decree, signed by President Volodymyr Zelensky, is numbered 355/2025 and was published on May 30.

The document states that the aim is to affirm the protection of childhood as a national priority and to unite international efforts to safeguard children's rights.

When will the new Children's Day be celebrated?

The decree specifies: "With the aim of enhancing the focus on children's rights and implementing the Convention on the Rights of the Child, I establish Children's Day in Ukraine to be celebrated on November 20, coinciding with World Children's Day".

Additionally, this decree nullifies the previous decree from May 30, 1998, which designated Children's Day to be celebrated on June 1.

The President's Office explained that this decision synchronizes Ukraine's celebration of Children's Day with international observances, increasing attention to children's rights both nationally and globally.
