Military sailors successfully destroyed eight naval mines that had washed ashore in the Odesa region due to the storm. This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy on their Facebook page.
«Since the start of the storm along the Odesa coast, our military has detected 8 drifting naval mines that were dislodged from their positions by the enemy», the statement reads.
Navy units promptly neutralized them, reducing risks to the population and maritime navigation.
Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk stated that Russia still retains the capability to conduct offensive operations in the Black Sea.
