Visit of the Swedish Red Cross Delegation to Odesa
Recently, a delegation led by Ulrika Modeer, the Secretary General of the Swedish Red Cross, visited Odesa as part of its collaboration with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
During their visit, the delegation toured the Center for Internally Displaced Persons, which provides social and psychological assistance to those affected by conflict.
Julia Haidary, the director of the Odesa City Council Social Services Center, along with Lyudmila Tsvitkova, the head of the Center, introduced the Swedish Red Cross representatives to the Center's operations and its successful collaboration with the Odesa Regional Organization. Through this partnership, displaced individuals receive essential social and psychological support and participate in events aimed at adapting to their new living conditions.
Ulrika Modeer emphasized the importance of strengthening local resources.

On December 15, 2023, after completing renovations funded by the city budget, the Social and Psychological Assistance Center opened in Odesa, having already accommodated 266 individuals, including 97 children, 4 of whom have disabilities, as well as 38 elderly people and 20 individuals with disabilities.
Since its opening, the Center's specialists have provided: 178 legal consultations, 534 psychological consultations, and 469 individual consultations for adults; social support has been provided to 70 families/individuals facing challenging life circumstances; and 65 group psychological activities have been conducted for children and adults.
