Successful Completion of Repatriation of Deceased Bodies in Ukraine
Ukraine has successfully completed the repatriation of 1245 deceased bodies, resulting from agreements reached in Istanbul. These bodies, according to the Russian side, belong to Ukrainian citizens, including military personnel.
In total, Ukraine has received 6057 bodies under these agreements.
Law enforcement authorities, together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will conduct all necessary examinations and identification of the repatriated bodies.
The repatriation efforts were made possible through the coordinated work of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces, and other security sector structures.
We express our gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their support in this matter.
Special thanks to the military personnel who are responsible for transporting the repatriated bodies to specialized institutions and organizing their handover to law enforcement agencies.
