Arrest Made in Attempt to Sell Grenades

Authorities have apprehended a 39-year-old man in Izmail who attempted to sell dangerous explosive devices. He was caught trying to sell two F-1 grenades for 5,000 hryvnias. This was reported by the police.

Investigators received information that the man was looking for a buyer for the ammunition. During the documentation of the crime, police recorded the transfer of the grenades near the train station. The suspect had the ammunition and fuses confiscated, which were sent for examination, along with the money obtained from the sale.

The individual explained that he inherited the grenades after the death of a relative and later decided to sell them. He has been charged under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of explosive devices), which carries a penalty of up to seven years in prison. The court has chosen to impose pre-trial detention.

"Law enforcement reminds that voluntary surrender of weapons and ammunition exempts one from criminal liability" - the statement reads.
