Ukrainian Youth Boxing Championships in Boyany
From November 3 to 11, the Ukrainian Youth Boxing Championships were held in Boyany, Chernivtsi region, for boys and girls born in 2011-2012. A total of 370 athletes from 22 regions participated.
The representatives from Odesa were athletes Oleksandr Shchupak from the Comprehensive Children and Youth Sports School No. 8 and Ismail Ismailov from the boxing club «Lvivsha».
Oleksandr Shchupak competed in the 80 kg category, achieving victory in three matches and becoming the Ukrainian champion among boys. His trainers are Volodymyr Osipchuk and Ihor Hordienko.
In the 54 kg category, Ismail Ismailov also won three matches and secured a gold medal. His coaches are honored trainers of Ukraine Nureddin Alibeyli and Azer Mustafaev.
In the overall team standings among boys, the Odesa region team emerged victorious. The winners will be included in the reserve of the national boxing team of Ukraine.
