Court Proceedings Against Saboteurs in Odesa Region
The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has submitted an indictment to the court against three members of an organized criminal group accused of orchestrating sabotage through arson on railway facilities during the state of war (Part 3 Art. 28 Part 2 Art. 113 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Investigators found that the accused received an order via messenger from an agent of Russian special services to carry out sabotage at Odesa railway facilities for monetary compensation.
In August 2024, using a pre-prepared incendiary mixture, they set fire to eight relay cabinets along railway lines and stations in Odesa region.
The arsonists operated according to a classic scheme of Russian special services: they initially reconnoitered potential targets, secured approval, and then executed arson attacks while documenting them on video. For each completed "task," they received payment, which was then divided among the members of the group.
Currently, all accused individuals are in custody.
The pre-trial investigation and operational support were conducted by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Odesa region.
Note: According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a lawful manner and established by a court verdict.
