Arrest of Drug Dealer in Odesa Region
Officers from the second police station of the Odesa District Police have discovered that a 41-year-old resident of the Usatove community is involved in illegal activities. At the end of January this year, law enforcement documented the sale of methamphetamine by the man, the circulation of which is restricted. The offender was apprehended while selling a package containing «goods» on the street near his residence. Investigators seized the psychotropic substance and conducted an express test.
This was reported by the police.
As material evidence, police also confiscated money received by the offender for the «goods,» and during a sanctioned search of his property, they found another package with an unknown substance, equipment for packaging psychotropics, and other items of interest to the investigation. All seized substances were sent for examination.
According to the senior investigator of the second police station, Olena Ditsul, the suspect was detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and was informed of the suspicion of illegal acquisition, storage for sale, and illegal sale of psychotropic substances. According to the sanctions of Part 1 of Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, the man faces a penalty of up to eight years in prison. During the investigation, the court chose a preventive measure of detention with the possibility of bail. The investigation continues under the procedural guidance of the Bilayaivka District Prosecutor's Office. Those involved in drug trafficking are being identified.
