Increase in Tax Revenues from Gambling Business in Ukraine
In the first quarter of 2025, the gambling sector in Ukraine contributed 5.4 billion UAH in taxes to the state budget, which is 20.4% higher compared to the same period in 2024.
This was reported by the head of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, Danilo Hetmantsev.
“These figures are 143 times higher than those of January-March 2021 (37.7 million UAH),” the deputy noted.
According to him, in January 2025, the budget received 735 million UAH, in February – 1.52 billion UAH, and in March – 3.13 billion UAH.
He also reported that the turnover using RRO/PRRO for the first two months of 2025 reached 8.5 billion UAH, exceeding the level of January-February 2024 (0.5 billion UAH) by 18.5 times.
“The introduction of mandatory RRO/PRRO usage by the gambling business at the end of last year has contributed to the sector's formalization,” Hetmantsev emphasized.
As a reminder:
The Cabinet of Ministers established the state agency “PlayCity”, which will implement state policy in the field of organizing and conducting gambling and lottery activities.
