Environmental Crisis in Odesa: Mass Fish Deaths Reported

An alarming situation has been reported in the Odesa region regarding the mass die-off of silver crucian carp. This was announced by the State Agency for Melioration and Fisheries of Ukraine.
The Odesa Fishery Patrol received notifications about the mass death of aquatic biological resources in a water body near the village of Zherebkove in the Podilskyi district.
To verify the information and take appropriate action, fishery inspectors, along with local authorities, representatives from the State Ecological Inspection, the State Consumer Service, and the Emergency Situations Service, promptly arrived at the scene.
During a visual inspection of the water body, the fish patrol noted the death of juvenile silver crucian carp. The water was observed to have an unnatural bright pink color.
Following the examination of the water body, the fishery officers prepared the relevant report. Meanwhile, to determine the causes of the aquatic resource deaths, samples of water were taken by the State Ecological Inspection for laboratory analysis.
Currently, specialists from the Odesa Fishery Patrol continue to monitor the situation in the water body.
