Expanding Cancer Treatment Options in Odesa

Medical facilities in Odesa are enhancing treatment opportunities for patients with cancer.

City hospitals have signed agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine (NHSU) to provide chemotherapy and patient support free of charge under the state medical guarantee program.

At City Clinical Hospital No. 10, chemotherapy is administered in the oncology department. Each day, 20-25 patients receive treatment in the outpatient therapy room.

Chemotherapy is offered free of charge to both Odesa residents and those from other regions of Ukraine, based on a doctor's electronic referral for patients with clinically and morphologically confirmed malignant tumors.

The oncology medical service at City Clinical Hospital No. 10 includes oncologist consultation rooms, general and minimally invasive surgery departments, as well as interventional endoscopy and oncology.

This oncology service combines surgical, chemotherapy, and diagnostic treatment options, allowing comprehensive support for patients at all stages of diagnosis and therapy.

In City Clinical Hospital No. 1, chemotherapy is also provided free of charge under an agreement with the NHSU in the palliative care day hospital. Since the start of this year, around 120 patients have received treatment here.

Since 2025, oncology services under the state medical guarantee program are expanding at City Clinical Hospital No. 11, where they specialize in treating patients with head and neck tumors.

Additionally, the Department of Health is actively implementing comprehensive programs for the prevention and early detection of cancer. In the first half of this year, approximately 10,000 Odesa residents underwent cancer screenings.
