Sambo Tournament in Odesa: Honoring Robert Babayanets
The All-Ukrainian Sambo Tournament took place in Odesa from October 10 to 12, 2025, honoring the memory of the esteemed coach Robert Babayanets.
Around 100 athletes from various regions of Ukraine participated, including Odesa, Kyiv, Odesa, Zhytomyr, and Mykolaiv regions.
The tournament featured both individual and team events («Wall to Wall») for boys born between 2011–2013 and 2014–2016.
In the overall team standings, the Odesa team clinched the first place, with Kyiv in second, and Zhytomyr region taking third place.
Team matches of «Wall to Wall» were also held:
- 1st place — «Tatami» team (Odesa);
- 2nd place — «Fanat» team (Chornomorsk);
- 3rd place — «Tigers» team (Odesa);
- 4th place — «Gorillas» team (Kyiv).
This tournament in memory of the notable Odesa coach has been held annually since 2011.
