HIV Testing Accessibility in Odesa Amidst War

Despite the ongoing war, Odesa is actively providing HIV testing for all interested individuals.

Free HIV screenings are available at all city hospitals, medical centers, maternity hospitals, and women’s clinics.

Anyone can learn their HIV status for free in just 15 minutes from a family doctor or in a hospital setting. The city provides rapid HIV tests under the “Health” program.

In the first nine months of 2025, HIV testing took place for 29,240 people in Odesa’s healthcare facilities, resulting in the detection of 268 positive cases.

Individuals with positive test results are referred to the City Center for the Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS for further examination and to receive free antiretroviral therapy, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives.

The organization of HIV testing in Odesa and the work of multidisciplinary teams have received high praise from both national and global experts.
