Odessa Region Sees Surge in Electric Vehicle Registrations

The Odessa region has made it into the top five regions in Ukraine for the number of electric vehicles registered in May. A total of 345 new electric cars were registered in our area, with a significant portion being pre-owned. This information comes from the association 'Ukravtobrom.'

Registration statistics and driver preferences

According to the data from 'Ukravtobrom', 345 electric cars were registered in the Odessa region during May. Notably, 77% of these are vehicles that have been previously used. The leading region is Lviv, with 799 registrations, followed by Kyiv (779 cars), Kyiv region (556 cars), and Dnipropetrovsk region (518 cars). Overall, 6168 new electric cars appeared on Ukrainian roads in May 2025.

As for driver preferences, in Kyiv, Kyiv region, and Dnipropetrovsk region, the most popular new model is the Volkswagen ID.UNYX. Conversely, in Lviv and Odessa regions, the clear favorite among new electric cars is the Honda eNS1. Among used vehicles in our region, the Nissan Leaf remains the leader.

According to the State Customs Service, since the beginning of this year, over 40,000 electric cars have been imported into Ukraine, mainly from the United States. The total value of these vehicles reached 810 million dollars. Electric cars make up 22% of the total number of imported vehicles in the country. Customs officials predict that if this trend continues, the year 2025 could set a record for the number of imported 'green' cars. It is also noted that the average price of one electric vehicle imported into Ukraine exceeds 20,000 dollars.
