New IT Training Program Launched in Ukraine
A new initiative to train IT professionals has been launched in Ukraine, called «Start in IT».
According to the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated June 24, 2022, the implementation procedure for the experiment to organize training for individuals under educational programs in the field of information technology has been approved.
Grant conditions – upon completion of training, individuals must find employment within 30 calendar days based on their new qualifications under the following conditions:
- employment contract or gig contract;
- civil law contract for work performance;
- register as an individual entrepreneur or engage in independent professional activity.
Who is the «Start in IT» program aimed at?
The program is designed for citizens of Ukraine who:
- are currently on leave;
- have had their employment contracts suspended;
- are on unpaid leave without a specified time limit;
- are internally displaced persons of working age;
- registered unemployed individuals entitled to vocational training services.
Who cannot participate in the «Start in IT» program?
The program does not apply to individuals who:
- lack vocational or higher education;
- have less than 18 months of work experience;
- have specialized in IT or have experience working in the IT industry.
How to obtain a training grant (certificate) in the IT field?
The training certificate is generated electronically on the "Diya Portal" after the Employment Center reviews the documents. To obtain the certificate, individuals need to submit:
- an application;
- a resume in the approved format;
- confirmation of the educational entity's readiness to train the individual;
- a copy of the employment record or data from the insured persons' register;
- a copy of the educational document (if available);
- a copy of the order confirming the individual's status (if applicable).
The certificate is valid for 10 working days from the date of issuance, during which the individual must sign a contract with the educational institution.
The list of educational institutions and IT programs eligible for training under the certificate will be determined and approved by the Ministry of Digital Transformation.
The aim of the experiment is to ensure citizens' rights to work and to promote employment.
