Ukrainian Students Shine at INFOMATRIX-2024 International Competition
From May 31 to June 3, 2024, the international finals of the INFOMATRIX-2024 computer project competition took place in Bucharest, Romania.
This year, the competition brought together 280 talented students from 17 countries, showcasing 165 innovative projects. The Ukrainian team, consisting of 18 students from Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv, presented 12 projects. Participants competed in five categories: Programming, Computer Art, Hardware Control, Short Movie, and Hackathon.
The jury evaluated both the projects and the presentations delivered in English. As a result, the Ukrainian team secured 5 bronze, 6 silver, and 1 platinum medal.
Among the bronze medalists were:
- Ruslan Maysko and Ivan Zmiyevskiy, 8th-grade students from Odesa Lyceum No. 65 with their project «The Meaning of Life and My Place in It» (supervised by Alla Omelchenko, computer science teacher);
- Yegor Bovkun, a 10th-grade student from Odesa Lyceum No. 65 with his project «Model of the First Helicopter in the World» (supervised by Oleg Pustovoyt, computer science teacher).
This international recognition showcases the strong potential of our students in the field of information technology.
Since 2009, Ukraine has been a full-fledged participant in the INFOMATRIX finals. The National Ecological and Naturalistic Center for Student Youth of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine traditionally organizes the selection of finalists and the participation of the team in the international finals.
