New Collaboration: Ukraine and Switzerland Sign Agreement
Ukraine and Switzerland have entered into a new agreement focusing on collaborative recovery efforts. The document was signed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Federal Council of Switzerland.
This has been reported by the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.
According to the ministry, the Swiss government considers Ukraine's recovery a strategic priority and plans to allocate 5 billion francs (approximately €4.8 billion) by 2036.
The agreement includes the provision of non-repayable financial and technical assistance from Switzerland for the purchase of goods and services from Swiss companies for recovery projects in the following sectors:
- Energy;
- Transport and mobility;
- Machinery for production processes;
- Construction;
- Water supply;
It also emphasizes prevention and response to emergencies.
According to the Ministry of Economy, the agreement ensures a transparent project selection mechanism through public procurement in accordance with Swiss law, involving only Swiss companies. Special attention is given to:
- The impact on Ukraine's recovery process;
- Contributions to achieving Sustainable Development Goals and a "green" transition;
- Job creation in Ukraine;
- Professional training for Ukrainian specialists.
