SECI Delegation Visits Odesa
A delegation from SECI, the Southeast European Cooperation Initiative, has visited Odesa. The delegation, led by Executive Coordinator Mr. Michael Facecas, is delivering humanitarian supplies to the regions of Kherson and Mykolaiv, which include generators, computer equipment, and medical supplies.
Mr. Facecas confirmed that, as promised during a previous meeting, humanitarian aid for Odesa is currently being prepared.
During discussions, urgent needs of the city and anticipated challenges were addressed, particularly ensuring stability during the heating season.
Odesa's Mayor, Hennadiy Trukhanov, stated, “Thank you for supporting the southern communities and for our meaningful meeting. The military at the front have their tasks, and we support them. But here, their families, children, and displaced persons remain. We must ensure the city's functionality despite all difficulties.”
Additional energy sources, such as solid-fuel boilers, could provide strategically important support for Odesa. Currently, the city has 8 such facilities in reserve, but considering various possible attacks on critical infrastructure, the city administration is discussing increasing this number for uninterrupted operation of social services.
“We will return to you very soon,” assured Mr. Michael Facecas.
