Conference on Odessa's Cultural Heritage

On December 23, 2024, the «#ARTODESSA» gallery at the Summer Theater of the City Garden hosted a conference titled «Odessa Collections».

The event brought together collectors, cultural scholars, and local historians from Odessa.

The primary goal of the conference was to revive the tradition of a collectors' community in Odessa, focusing on the preservation of Ukraine's cultural and historical legacy.

Participants discussed the prospects for preserving private collections, the possibilities for their exhibition, museification, and cataloging. A significant aspect highlighted was the need for scientific research on these collections.

Among the speakers were Ivan Liptuga, Felix Kohrikht, Semen Kantor, Anna Golubovska, Taras Maksymiuk, Oleksandr Friedman, Serhiy Sedyh, Dmytro Khamula, Denys Mitskevych, Oleksandr Surylov, Yuliya Hurynenko, and Kateryna Pimenova.

As a result of the conference, a publication on collecting titled «The Universe Named Odessa» is being prepared for release.

The conference was organized by the Department of Culture, International Cooperation, and European Integration of the Odessa City Council.
