Drone Attack on Odesa: Latest Updates

On the night of February 3-4, the Odesa region was once again targeted by Russian drones, resulting in significant damage to the energy infrastructure. Four people were injured in the attack.

The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleg Kiper, reported serious damage in the regional center due to drone strikes. Emergency power outages have been implemented in parts of the city. Utility services are actively working to restore electricity, including the activation of generators for critical facilities. Additional resilience points are set to be opened, alongside the existing 425.

Three individuals sustained shrapnel injuries, and another person, who was in a business center during the attack, suffered a concussion.

"All relevant services are engaged in addressing the aftermath of the attack. Law enforcement is documenting yet another crime committed against the civilian population of Odesa," Kiper noted.

The Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the war crimes (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). Preliminary findings indicate that the Russian armed forces attacked Odesa using drones, reportedly of the Shahed-136 type.

"Fires broke out at several locations, which firefighters promptly extinguished. The complexity of firefighting was exacerbated by repeated air alarms. Psychologists from the State Emergency Service worked with local residents," the SES reported, adding that 80 rescuers and 17 units of equipment were involved in the response.

The city authorities announced the temporary suspension of tram service No. 18 in Odesa. Buses are operating instead on this route. Tram No. 17 will continue to run between Kulikov Field and the 6th station of the Big Fountain at an interval of 8-9 minutes.
