Return of Fallen Soldiers: Updates from Ukraine
As part of the repatriation efforts, 1000 bodies have been returned to Ukraine, reportedly belonging to Ukrainian military personnel according to Russian sources.
This information was shared by the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War via Telegram.
In the near future, law enforcement officials together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs will conduct necessary examinations and identifications of the repatriated bodies.
The repatriation was made possible through the joint efforts of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center at the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and other security and defense institutions.
The Coordination Headquarters expressed gratitude to the International Committee of the Red Cross for their assistance.
Special thanks were given to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who are responsible for transporting the fallen heroes to designated state specialized institutions and organizing their handover to law enforcement and forensic experts.
Law enforcement officials and Ministry of Internal Affairs experts will quickly identify the deceased.
