Ukraine's Response to Ceasefire Violations
President Volodymyr Zelensky, following the report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Russian forces violated the so-called "Easter ceasefire" 2935 times. He emphasized that Ukraine's actions will be a response to the aggression from Russia.
Zelensky noted: "The total number of violations by the Russian army of its own promise of silence for this day is 2935".
Additionally, he observed that the majority of attacks occurred in the Pokrovsk direction.
The President added that "the Russian promise of complete silence was not upheld in the Kursk direction either".
According to Zelensky, there were 96 assaults by the enemy along the front lines, as well as 1882 shellings of Ukrainian positions, including 812 from heavy weaponry, and Russian FPV drones were deployed over 950 times.
Zelensky remarked: "On this day, Moscow lacked the response to both the proposal for a complete ceasefire for 30 days after Easter and the proposal to ensure at least silence in the skies regarding civilian infrastructure."
"The nature of Ukrainian actions will continue to be mirrored: we will respond to silence with silence, and there will be our strikes in defense against Russian attacks. Actions always speak louder than words."
What preceded: On the evening of April 19, Zelensky stated after the report from Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi that the Russian "Easter ceasefire" does not extend to the Kursk and Belgorod regions, and attacks have not ceased in several other directions along the front.
Zelensky is proposing to Russia to extend the ban on long-range strikes for 30 days, as there were no air alerts recorded during the so-called "Easter ceasefire" despite numerous violations by the RF along the front.
