Restoration of Electricity Supply in Kherson after Attacks

Energy workers from Odesa have successfully restored electrical equipment in Kherson after Russian shelling in February. Nearly 2,000 residents have had their power restored.

This information was reported on the official page of DTEK Odesa Electric Networks.

It is noted that 26 workers were involved in restoring the damaged electrical infrastructure in Kherson resulting from the bombardment. Teams arrived in the city in mid-March.

“The frontline was only 3-10 kilometers away from the repair site. The energy workers had to carry out their tasks in bulletproof vests and helmets for safety, as enemy shelling continued,” the report states.

The specialists managed to energize three high-voltage lines and a substation to prioritize electricity supply to water supply facilities, according to DTEK.

On April 4, 2025, a Russian FPV drone hit the Kherson CHPP.

On the morning of April 1, 2025, another energy facility was damaged in Kherson, resulting in 45,000 subscribers being left without power.

On March 27, Russian forces struck energy infrastructure in Kherson and Poltava, violating ceasefire agreements. The Kremlin had previously agreed to stop attacks on energy facilities, but these strikes indicate a breach of agreements.

President Zelensky stated that Ukraine would respond to such violations and urged the international community to react to Russia's actions.
