Cross Country Championships in Odessa: New Victories
On October 19, 2024, the third stage of the nationwide cross country championships took place in Victory Park. This event featured boys, girls, juniors, and youth competing in 12 age categories over distances ranging from 1 to 8 km.
More than 60 qualified athletes from various regions of Ukraine, including Odessa, participated in the competitions.
In the 1 km distance, the best times were recorded by Odessa's Yelyzaveta Sheremeta (4:29) and Andriy Zasnov (4:55).
For the 3 km, the fastest were Ksenia Danyliuk (19:54) and Vyacheslav Balashov (14:00).
Volodymyr Peresunko achieved the best result in the 4 km distance with a time of 29:48.
Hanna Hilyanchuk took second place in the 6 km event, losing to an athlete from Chernihiv, while Roman Stoyanov won the 8 km race with a time of 30:19.
After the completion of the four stages and the finals, the national team of Ukraine will be determined for participation in the European Championship on December 8 in Turkey.
The event was organized by the Ukrainian Athletics Federation in collaboration with the public organization SEASIDE RUNNERS ODS with the support of the Odessa City Council.
