Ukrainians in Canada had the opportunity to see the exhibition «Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues» before its official opening.
During the event, they met with Ukrainian team players: Mykola Matviyenko, Heorhiy Sudakov, Roman Yaremchuk, and Ivan Kaliuzhny.
Exhibition on the history of Ukrainian football in Toronto - what is known
In Toronto, the exhibition «Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues» opens, where visitors can see original football trophies, coaching notes from Valeriy Lobanovskyi, and learn how Ukrainian football survives during wartime.
This unique project with over 200 exhibits is making its debut outside Ukraine to inform the global community about the formation and development of Ukrainian football, as well as its significant contribution to Ukraine’s fight during the war.
The exhibition titled “Ukrainian Football: The Game Continues” will take place at Trident Centre in Toronto from June 5 to June 10 (from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM). Admission is free.
It is organized by the Ukrainian Football Association as part of the Canadian Shield tournament, in which the Ukrainian national team will participate.
Canadian Shield Tournament - what you need to know
The Canadian Shield tournament is a new international competition organized by Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE), SPORTFIVE, and MIB Sport Agency.
Four men’s national teams will participate in the Canadian Shield tournament: Canada, Ukraine, Ivory Coast, and New Zealand.
The Canadian Shield competitions are positioned as a preparatory stage for the upcoming World Cup, part of which will take place in North America in 2026.
