Ukrainian Team Places Fifth at Euro-2025 in Artistic Swimming

The Ukrainian artistic swimming team continued their participation at Euro-2025 in the Portuguese city of Funchal, competing in the second final. The Ukrainian athletes performed a duet in the free routine.

Ukraine sent a squad of 10 swimmers to the championship, and previously, the duet of Daria Moshynska and Anastasia Shmonina secured sixth place in the technical routine.

How did the free routine competition unfold?

  • Moshynska and Shmonina began the final in ninth place. For their artistry, the Ukrainian team scored 116.50 points, only trailing the Spanish duo who took silver. They received 103.7899 points for execution.
  • The total score for the performance was 220.2899 points, placing them in second position temporarily.
  • Despite five more duets competing afterward, the Ukrainians could not maintain their podium position. Ultimately, the duet finished in fifth place, falling short of the podium by nearly 17 points.
  • The European champions in the free routine were the representatives from Italy, who narrowly surpassed the Spaniards by 2.3 points.

The next event for the Ukrainian swimmers is the team competition in the technical routine, scheduled for Wednesday, June 4, at 18:00. Alongside Ukraine, seven other teams will compete in the final.
