Cyclocross is a cycling competition held on challenging terrains. Cyclists on modified bicycles cover short distances (from 2.5 to 3.5 km) with many obstacles. Women race fewer laps for 35-40 minutes, while men compete for about an hour. The average speed of cyclists is approximately 20 kilometers per hour. Cyclocross competitions primarily take place in the fall and winter when road cyclists rest or prepare for the new season.
