Odesa Athletes Win 20 Medals at the European Championship in Greece
The European Wushu Championship concluded in Heraklion (Greece), featuring 650 competitors from 29 countries.
The Ukrainian national team was represented by athletes from the Comprehensive Children's and Youth Sports School No. 1.
European champions included: Andriy Oliinyk (short weapon), Erika Chen (traditional fist), Iryna Mizina (contact matches, Tuishou), and Sofia Osadchuk - twice (contact matches, Tuishou and fist, Baziquan).
Silver medals were won by: Erika Chen (short weapon), Iryna Mizina (long weapon), Sofia Osadchuk (traditional fist), Sofia Burlya – twice (traditional fist and short weapon), Ariadna Pavlyuchenko (pair weapon) and Roman Nedin (pair weapon).
Bronze medals were claimed by: Valeriya Blahodyr (short weapon), Andriy Oliinyk (traditional fist), Erika Chen (traditional fist), Sofia Osadchuk (long weapon), Marina Yazikova (pair weapon), Sofia Tatarenko (pair weapon), Ariadna Pavlyuchenko (traditional fist), and Roman Nedin (traditional fist).
The athletes were trained by coaches: Leonid Borysov, Hanna Borysova, Daria Metka, Iryna Ihumenova, and Daria Pylypenko.
